Barcelona

The city of Barcelona is one of the cuttest cities around Spain. Located at the north-east coast, it offers a wide range of touristic and leisure options. The Gothic and Modernist (with the great buidings by Gaudi and the impressive Passeig de Gracia) architecture embeds the visitor into the city past time. The cultural offer in Barcelona includes museums (such as Picasso's or the MACBA Museum of Contemporary Art ), music ( Palau de la Musica) and theaters. Barcelona is also famous for their active night live with restaurants and night clubs opened till late at night.

The Computer Vision Center

The summer school will take place at the Computer Vision Center (CVC). The CVC is an institution devoted to research and development in Computer Vision placed at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). The CVC was established in 1995 by Industry Department and the CIRIT ("National Science Foundation") of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). The Center promotes industrial development of computer vision applications as well as research collaboration in the same field. CVC brings together faculty, postdoctoral fellows, visiting scientists, and students, and provides support for training and development. From a scientific point of view, the CVC wants to contribute to increase the knowledge in this field. From a technological point of view, the CVC aims to contribute to innovation and industrial competitiveness collaborating with companies to develop technological projects. The CVC model plans a natural co-operation between Research and Development towards technology transfer.

 

 

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) main campus with its multiplicity of research, teaching, service and cultural facilities covers 260 ha.. It is located in the very heart of the Greater Barcelona Metropolitan Area in Bellaterra (Cerdanyola del Vallès), close to the city of Sabadell and about 20 km. from Barcelona, in the most important location of technological development in Catalonia. It has good connections with Barcelona by train with two different lines and by car with two different highways.
